In the early 1980s, a new generation of electrotechnical innovations hit the market: robotics and automation revolutionised the industrial production process and paved the way for digitalisation. TEWE recognised the trend and the benefits it offers for agriculture early on, and the new age of fully automatic control systems was usher in to the livestock farming sector with profitable feeding systems that save time and resources. This was needed due to the ever-growing number of animals who needed to be cared for, monitored and managed in a profitable manner. TEWE faced these challenges with its vision: We cater to everyone!

TEWE demanded a lot of its plants. Only when all the components of a system work together at a high level is it possible to guarantee that all animals receive the right amount of feed and supplements to cover their nutritional needs. TEWE’s focus on feeding and control technology has made us specialists in applied products for this purpose, such as ultra-precise weighing technology. And this was out of necessity, as none of the solutions available on the market was as capable of meeting the high demands of agriculture and feeding systems. That’s why TEWE developed its own weighing technology, which led to the foundation of an independent subsidiary 10 years later:

The innovations developed at TEWE also resulted in the company shifting its focus to BIOGAS plants. And the technology in this area had also developed a lot: although the designs were initially very simple, they would later be advanced and developed to be more efficient and productive, while saving resources and using regenerative energies became ever more important. In the meantime, renewable gas is not only ‘bio’, but can also utilise waste heat and is available on demand, as required. With a global presence, TEWE offers innovative models for the professional construction of biogas plants.
